Project Director

COMPANY

A leading retailer of automotive parts and services in the Eastern USA, the company is growing organically and through acquisitions. As such we are hiring for a variety of Merchandising roles to manage all aspects of category management, vendor management and product mix.

SUMMARY

The role of Product Director develops and implements a buying philosophy, pricing structure and marketing strategy. They are the lead driver with vendors developing and maintaining the organization’s relationship, and manage all aspects of their categories.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participates in all team activities and decisions.
• Selects quality vendors and negotiates programs.
• Analyze market data and competitive industry activities to effectively put the right products in the right stores at the right prices.
• Uses information from sales, gross profit and various ad hoc reports to make sure their assigned categories meet established performance targets.
• Adds and deletes products in response to industry changes and customer demands.
• Test new products and evaluate performance.
• Troubleshoots supply chain issues and collaborate across the organization and vendor community to solve them.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Five to seven years of experience, preferably in aftermarket automotive merchandising, product management or operations environment.
• Strong financial acumen.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• History of collaborative vendor management and a successful track record of win/win negotiating.
• Analytical skills with intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite.

ON-SITE ROLE NEAR LEXINGTON, VA (relocation assistance is available)

BASE COMPENSATION (DOE): $85,000-115,000 (no bonus available)
