About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Strategic Account Executive, Automotive to drive new business growth across large and strategically important automotive dealer groups.

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on developing, navigating, and closing opportunities within complex dealer organizations. You'll own a portfolio of strategic dealer groups and work across multiple levels of these organizations, from individual rooftops and operational leaders to executive decision-makers, to build initial relationships, establish value, and expand adoption across the broader group.

We're looking for an experienced automotive technology seller who understands how dealerships operate, knows how buying decisions are made across different dealer group structures, and can quickly establish credibility in the market. You'll need to be equally comfortable opening doors, developing executive relationships, running a complex consultative sales process, and finding creative paths into accounts.

The Company is a lean, fast-moving organization, and this role is ideal for someone who thrives with autonomy. Beyond closing business, you'll bring insights from the market back into the organization and partner with Product, Customer Success, Marketing, and executive leadership to help shape our evolving Automotive go-to-market strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end sales process for an assigned portfolio of large and strategic automotive dealer groups, with a strong focus on net-new revenue.
  • Develop and execute account strategies to penetrate complex dealer organizations, identify buying centers, and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior and executive decision-makers, while also developing opportunities from the dealership level when appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to land within individual rooftops or business units and strategically expand successful relationships across larger dealer groups.
  • Lead complex, consultative sales engagements from initial prospecting and discovery through negotiation and contract execution.
  • Independently build and manage pipeline through targeted prospecting, industry relationships, referrals, events, and other outbound strategies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each customer's business priorities and position The Company's AI-powered solutions around measurable business value.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM activity.
  • Partner closely with Customer Success to support successful customer transitions and identify opportunities for continued growth.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and executive leadership, bringing forward customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market insights that help strengthen our product and go-to-market approach.
  • Represent The Company at customer meetings, industry events, dealer-group meetings, and other strategic engagements.
  • Travel as needed to develop relationships, advance strategic opportunities, and support the sales process.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of B2B sales experience, including demonstrated success selling technology or SaaS solutions into automotive retail and dealer groups.
  • Deep understanding of the automotive retail ecosystem and how technology purchasing decisions are made within dealer organizations.
  • Demonstrated success developing and closing new business within large, complex dealer groups or comparable strategic automotive accounts.
  • Strong network and established credibility within the automotive retail, dealer group, or automotive technology ecosystem.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex organizations with both centralized and decentralized decision-making structures.
  • Experience engaging and influencing executive-level stakeholders while also building relationships across operational and dealership-level teams.
  • Strong track record of independently creating pipeline and managing opportunities from initial prospecting through close.
  • Excellent consultative selling, negotiation, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a lean, fast-moving environment with a high degree of autonomy and limited formal sales enablement.
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to translate customer and market feedback into actionable insights for the broader business.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and forecasting discipline.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means becoming a trusted presence within the automotive dealer-group market while consistently creating and closing meaningful new revenue opportunities. You'll successfully penetrate major dealer organizations, build relationships across multiple levels, turn initial wins into broader group adoption, and develop a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities.

You'll also serve as an important voice of the market internally, helping The Company understand what customers need, where opportunities exist, and how our Automotive solutions and go-to-market approach can continue to evolve.

Why work with us?

Automotive is a major strategic focus for us. We're making a significant push in the market with our new AI-powered offering, so this isn't simply filling an established territory. There's an opportunity for this person to help shape how we win with large dealer groups as we build out the motion.

There's a significant market and earnings opportunity. We're targeting larger dealer groups where an initial win can expand into a much broader relationship. For a strong seller who can penetrate these organizations and grow them, there is meaningful commission upside.

They'll have a real voice in the business. (CRO) isn't looking for someone who just wants a bag of accounts and a playbook. We want someone with strong automotive expertise who will bring back what they're hearing from dealers, identify gaps and opportunities, and help influence our product and GTM strategy.

We're established, but still small enough to make an impact. The Company has been in AI for 15+ years and has real technology and customers behind it, but we're a lean company where this person will have direct access to leadership and can make a very visible impact.

There's a lot of autonomy. This is a great opportunity for an experienced, entrepreneurial seller who knows the automotive market, can open doors, and wants the freedom to figure out the best way to win.
